Placeholder recalled and file unmodified behaviour

Hi, could someone clarify what happens when a placeholder is opened but the file is not modified. Policy is based on Last Modified date, so the file will be turned into a placeholder again.

Is the file written to the Vault Store again? I'm hoping the file is just compared to the one in the Vault, found to be the same and reverted to a placeholder

The Setting Up File System Archiving documentation isn't clear on this. Page 27, Table 2-2, under "Open", both the description from unmodified and modified say " Enterprise Vault converts the file back to a placeholder".

By design the shortcut (placeholder) is re-created after the next run of the archive task.

Just to expand the explaination a bit.  When you recall a placeholder to just view an item all that occurs in the item is reverted back to a place holder, so your expectation is correct.
