Question regarding searches in Discovery Accelerator 6.0 SP4

Hi,

We have huge searches to be done.

Please let us know which is the best approach.

1. Creating a lot of cases (or)

Example :

Create new cases for each month in a year and then run the searches.

2. Creating one case and running a lot of searches under that one case.

Example :

Create a case for one full year and then run the searches breaking it down to one month..
Search 1  - First month
Search2 - second month and so on

Thanks,

Anu

My opinion would be to do it month by month.. that way you will be able to give your people wanting the searching something to look at quite quickly, ie the first month or two, whilst the other searches might still be running.

Hope that helps,

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your reply.  We were looking more towards the server/application untilization perspective of doing the searches.  We did not want to overload the system by doing large processing which would result in corrupted indexes and search failures.

Thanks,

Anu

I would create one case and do many searches within the case. That way you can review search by search or you can do a review of all in one. It gives you more flexability in reviewing your result set
