We have been unable to remove archive points on a file server running the placeholder service (product is Enterprise Vault 2007, servers are Windows 2003). The archivepoints.exe utility shows they do not exist. We were referred to the ADSpy utility in our service call with Symantec. When that is run we get the message "The following ADS Streams could not be deleted. They may be locked by another program: (path)...EVFolderPoint.xml..." etc.. Have tried stopping the placeholder service, stopping the archiving task, rebooting EV server, even rebooting file server into safe mode. Any archives that were in these folders have been moved back to the file server, so there are no files in Vault corresponding to these folders. We are trying to remove the archive points because a large archive task run went South and Symantec indicates we should clean these up prior to re-attempting. Other than at a top level folder, we did not want nor expect (i.e., did not select auto-creation) these archive points to be created. Any thoughts on how to remove these would be appreciated.
