SQL Consolidation

We have 2 EV servers, each with its own SQL 2000 server.  We are looking to consolidate these 2 sql 2000 servers into a single sql 2005 server in expectation of upgrading to EV8.

In preparing for the moving of databases to the new server, I have a conflict with the EVConfiguration database, as it exists on both of the SQL servers.

Do I need to only copy one of these databases into the new sql server or is there a way to reconnect both with different names? Or do I somehow need to merge the DB's?

If the data is the same in both, then I suspect I only need one of the two databases on the new SQL server.

Are each of the EV servers in a separate Directory Database?  What version of EV are you running?

You say EVConfiguration, you are not by chance referring the Compliance Accelerator and Discovery Accelerator? 

To verify, you only have one database called EnterpriseVaultDirectory, correct?
