Searching Enterprise vault using SharePoint/MS Search 2008

Hi there,

               we need to be able to federate search results from searching Stymantec Enterprise vault for email and file archiving which we currently use. Does anybody know the rough ETA on when the protocol handler will become available from Symantec? Its described at the following link for MS Search 2008, and SharePoint can use the same connector.

Does anyone have an update on this?  I'm also interested in how to search the archived emails from Exchange that are managed in Enterprise Vault through SharePoint 2007. 

Can federated search work?

Or Web Parts to show the web search  in SharePoint?

I'm also interested in this feature. I would like to display search results from eVault in SharePoint. I read about the federated search connector from the same Microsoft page, but I can not find the connector anywhere.
