We've got a really strange problem. I've got cases escalated with Symantec and NetApp, but figured I would take a chance someone else has out here has seen this.
In EV, under File Servers, when we go to Properties for the Filer and enable Delete Archived file, if we try to delete placeholders, it takes a minute+ to delete each file. The really disruptive thing is, while this delay is happening, all other CISF file creation or deletion operations on the Filer are hung as well. The result is if some user deletes 5 placeholders, then no users can create or delete any files for 5 - 8 minutes. Not good since Citrix profiles point to a CIFS share -- it makes for slooow logins.
When we set it back to Retain Archived file, everything occurs at normal speed.
