Some users are missing the EV icons in the toolbar and menu option

Hi All.

We have 1 policy set up for all users.  While most of us have the icons in the toolbar and in the menu option a small percentage do not have all the icons visable.  The do have the Search Archives and Update the Offline Vault buttons but nothing else.

I have turned on logging for one of these users and this is whats generated...... Does anything stand out to anyone?

Hi,

if I am reading the client trace right then the issue is that those users are configured in outlook to use rpc over http

ie trace says

[RPC over HTTP enabled (flags = 39)]

but it looks like you have the default settings of rpc over http restrictions such that users don't get the toolbar etc.

Thanks for the reply.... we are all members of the same policy and i have all the toolbars and menu options.  Also, RPC over HTTP restrictions in the advanced policy settings are set to "none"

When i take these users out of cached mode and disable RPC over HTTP on the Outlook client they still dont get all the icons.

If i open the users profile on my machine i can replicate the problem so it's definately something in EV that is causing the issue.

Hi,

Sorry just re-read your email.  Are you sure the users haven't been disabled for archiving.  that's what it sounds like?  What are the other buttons you'd expect to see?

You are so right.  I spoke to a fella on support and that's exactly what the problem was.  I have no idea who or why they were disabled!.
