Turn off compression in EV 8.0

Wierd question but can we turn off compression in EV 8.0?

yeah through a registry key, but it's so illogical that i cant think of a single situation where i'd advise it

In version 8, in the properties of the partition there is a volume tab.  On this tab there are two checkboxes, 
'Device performs data deduplication' and 'Device performs data compression'.  Checking these boxes disables EV's compression and/or deduplication features respectively.  

In the case of data domain devices, it is recommended that you disable both compression and deduplication in favor of the technologies employed by the data domain storage device.

was thinking of EV2007 and turning off the zlib compression
