What are the EV folders in Outlooks Tombstoned Deleted Items

Hi All,

What are the EV folders in Outlook's Tombstoned Deleted items?  When recovered back to the Deleted items Folder it shows that they are Archive Explorer mailboxes. Looks like they are created/deleted for each time I enter my Archive Explorer or Archive Search.

Why is this? Is there a way to keep clean these up?

Phil,

when you use the Search (or if you use AE and you are integrating into Outlook) then EV creates a new folder, sets the Home Page to the URL of the Search Pane (or AE), deletes it and then opens it.  So the user sees the Search page (or AE) but in fact it's displaying the Home Page of the new, empty, deleted folder.

This will show up under Deleted Items and in the dumpster.

Bit of a hack really....

Yes, seems like a bit of a hack to me too. We're about to roll out EV to our organisation and I'm thinking we'll get a few call about this. At least I know why now.
