When finding an attachment in "Search Vault", is it possible to have the containing email opened, instead of the attachment?

Hello,


Currently when doing a "Search Vault" (EV7.5 or EV8.0 Exchange Mail Archiving), the results can show attachments and/or email.

I'd like to configure it so that when opening a search result (like an attachment), the containing archived email is opened, instead of opening the archived attachment.

Is this anyways possible?

Hi I think there may be an option, check this out: http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/286796.htm "The ItemGranularityOnly schema combines the information from attachments into the top level parent document in the index, so the attachments are not shown separately in the search." Ah yes, forgot about that.

Remember though the index will need to be rebuilt.  That should not take long for a mailbox archive though.

I'll have to test it in EV8.0.1 to see if it's still supported.
