eVault Client prompt for password

MichelDeschenes

Hi we've been facing this issue for quite a while now but I have yet to find a fix for it.

Every now and then, a popup will appear in Outlook 2007 to prompt for credentials on the eVault server and even if we put in our credentials, it'll prompt again.

After looking around the event logs, nothing really interesting comes up but I do find the following in the ev_client_log...

There is very little to none information on these error codes.

Can anyone hint me on this?

Thanks,

Michel

Take a look at http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/295039.htm

A lot of these are OS specific and in my case we have Windows 2008 servers and XP clients running Office 2007.

Also not just one is needed it may be a combination of two or more.

The following fixed my situtation, I used Group policies in Windows 2008 to apply these settings to the workstations
  1. Add the Enterprise Vault servers to the Intranet zone.  (This did not work from the EVS side detailed in Scenario #1)
  2. Alter the Security options in IE to "Automatic Logon with current username and password"  (Scenario #2)

And applying the following Scenario #3 to the IIS Server .  Make sure that the settings listed are the ONLY options selected.

I previously had this issue. In my scenario a Windows automatic update appeared to have changed the authentication methods in IIS, which is serving up the asp pages for users to view and search their vaults. Below are the correct settings on our systems. We have six EV servers all set the same.
