moving from test install to real installation

We've been testing EV 8.0 with a subset of users. It was successful and so we're going to do a real installation for our site.

I have backups of the test server. Can those be used with the new server, If I keep the same IP and Netbios system name,  to move the users over to the new installation ? If not, then in reading the doc, it would look like I need to move the test users out to a PST and then import the PST back into the new EV install. Is this correct ?

 I would recommend that you export their archives to PST then import it to the new archive for the users after you setup the final configuration
