We have introduced 2 x new EV9 servers in our exisiting site. Previously we had a provisioning group target the 'whole exchange org' for all our mailboxes but we have now removed this target and added a new AD group as a target for the exchange 2010 mailboxes. So usera on exchange 2003 is enabled for archiving but has no prov. group associated with him. But when we migrate their mailbox to exchange 2010 we then add usera to the the AD group and they get re-provisoned and it picks up their archive fine.
All is well with shortcuts as its the same site etc. just new VE9 servers doing the targetting of ex2010. The problem comes when we want to restore items from an exisiting archive of usera. We can choose the archive to export items from but when we choose specify the mailbox to restore to we see:-
'Unable to get list of mailboxes for server 'EX2003SRV' Check the deafult vault ID in the ExchangeMailboxEntry table.
We cannot restore archives to any mailbox. If you are granular and manage to select the mailbox in exchange2010 that you want to restore to it errors:-
Unspecified error encountered during export operation
Is this because of the way we are migrating? Should we disable the mailbox archiving prior to moving the exchange mailbox between exc2003 and exch2010?
