We use SEV 8.0 SP4 for journaling our exchange 2007 emails.
As many of you are already aware SEV removes the items from the jounal mailboxes once it has processed them.
My problem:
I am trying to reduce the number of backups we perform per week from everyday to 4 times a week. If we perform a backup on Tue and SEV goes down on Wed and we have to restore from backup we will be missing one days worth of email in the restore.
I had hoped to be able to utilize exchange dumpster in this situation. Our dumpsters are set to a very high number and I thought we would just be able to recover these processed items within the journal mailbox and for SEV to pick them up again.
Is this possible? Is this the best route to take here? recovere deleted item seems to be grayed out in the journaling mailbox. Does anyone know why would be?
