I recently uninstalled Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) on my O/S 32-bit machine and successfully installed Norton Internet Security 2011. However, I get the following message when I start MS-Outlook:
"The Add-in "Symantec Antivirus Outlook Protection" (c:\program files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\vpmsece.dll) cannot be loaded and has been disabled by Outlook. Please contact the add-in manufacter for an update. if no update is available, please uninstall the add-in"
I have see prior posts about deleting the file <extend.dat> but this file name apparently does not exist on my computer. Nor does the file <vpmsece.dll> exist. How can I get rid of that annoying Symantec add-in message when Outlook starts up?

I am not sure this is a SEP issue. You should post this issue in the Norton Community. There are experts with Norton Internet Security there to help you.

<edit> I found this KB that mentions an issue like yours after installing SEP.
After installing Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP), Microsoft Outlook displays an add-in error dialog
