Hello,

Please your help, we have a NBU virtual media server appliance (5.1.1) and initially we had configure a 512GB vdisk (VMware) but now, we need to extend/expand to 1.5TB.

At VMware level the vmdk has 1.5TB but at NBU level what is the procedure to extend de DiskPool?

Regards!

Rafael

@rafanto

If the newly provisioned disks are visible to Virtual Appliance then login to Appliance console and check for unallocated space

https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/doc/75895731-149112910-0/v113572142-149112910

Once confirmed the allocated storage space, then resize the partition

I can help you with that. Here are the steps on how to extend the DiskPool on a NBU virtual media server appliance:

  1. Log in to the NBU Management Console.
  2. Click on the "Storage" tab.
  3. Click on the "DiskPools" node.
  4. Right-click on the DiskPool that you want to extend and select the "Extend DiskPool" option.
  5. In the "Extend DiskPool" dialog box, enter the new size of the DiskPool.
  6. Click on the "Extend" button.

The DiskPool will be extended to the new size.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind:

  • The DiskPool must be offline before you can extend it.
  • The new size of the DiskPool must be equal to or greater than the current size of the DiskPool.
  • The DiskPool must be formatted before you can use it.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Here are the steps on how to extend the vmdk in VMware:

  1. Log in to the vSphere Client.
  2. Right-click on the VMDK and select the "Edit" option.
  3. In the "Edit Virtual Machine" dialog box, click on the "Disks" tab.
  4. Select the vmdk that you want to extend and click on the "Expand" button.
  5. In the "Expand Disk" dialog box, enter the new size of the vmdk.
  6. Click on the "Expand" button.

The vmdk will be extended to the new size.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind:

  • The vmdk must be powered off before you can extend it.
  • The new size of the vmdk must be equal to or greater than the current size of the vmdk.
  • The vmdk must be formatted before you can use it.
