Hi @ all

We are at the point to upgrade our netbackup Master/Media (appliance) from 9.1 to 10.1.1

but our opscenter is running on 9.1 version.

1. Do we need to upgrade the Opscenter first ? or we can upgrade the appliance before

2. the last version of opscenter is 9.1, how to upgrade the opscenter to NB IT analytics 11.0 ? is it just a new install of NB IT analytics ? can it be in the same server of the opscenter as we will not use it anymore?

3. is there a procedure link ?

thank you a lot for your precious help :)

@Riadh_R17  If you plan to upgrade both the backup product like NetBackup and the OpsCenter components, it is recommended that you upgrade OpsCenter components first. By upgrading OpsCenter components before the backup product, OpsCenter can start collecting data from the backup product once it is added to the console.

Opscenter and NB IT analytics are 2 different products. You can not upgrade Opscenter to  NBITA. You need to do a fresh installation of NB IT analytics. You should not have both OC and NBIT active on the same server.

You can download the NB IT analytics from the support site.

@Riadh_R17 Unlike Opscenter, you can install NBIT even without upgrading your NBU setup and configuring it to collect data from the Netbackup server. With Opscenter in the environment, Opscenter has to be on the higher version . This is not a requirement for NBITA.

You can decide to keep the Opscenter server ON but not configured to collect data NBU server, just for getting historical reports. And configure the NBITA  server to collect data from NBU for new reports.

Hope this  answers your query.

Hi @Deeps

Thank you for your answer.

If i understand, in our case the opscenter will be unusable as the last version is not compatible with master/media 10.1.1

so we need to install NB IT in an other server and then upgrade the master/media to 10.1.1

Am i correct ?

Thank you a lot
