7.6 BMR Windows restore

I'm testing BMR restores on NB 7.6 on Windows 64bit and 32bit machines and restore ends with message "The restore has stopped due to the following  error:<?>" when BMR wants to create partitions on disks. I opened a case in Symantec. Maybe you've got similar issues with BMR ???

Workaround is to create partitions on disks (ntfs, ext, doesn't matter). Error occurs only when I want to restore to clean disks.

A workaround till you get fix on this problem.

In the restore environment, using SRE shell option, open file, locate x:\windows\system32\cmd.exe and open it. It will open up windows command prompt.

Here type "diskpart" and enter.

Locate your disk using command "list disk".

Then select it using "select disk <ID>" . e.g. select disk 0

Clean it using CLEAN command. Check diskpart HELP command for more details.

Once the disk/s are cleaned then re-run bmr restore from the same environment without rebooting machine.

It would work.

Thanks.

It doesn't work. I've tried it.

If this is a restore to a physical box, what model of disk drive is being used for this? Is the disk a new "Advanced Format" (AF) disk?

Or is this a restore to a VMWare guest instance?
