Hi all,

Not sure if this is NBU issue, but is hard to find some info out there about StorageTek StorageNet 6000 Virtual Transport Manager (STK SN6000 VTS), the issue is that NBU is trying to mount a tape on ACSLS, if I check the output of one of the media server shows this:

vmoprcmd -h mediaserver

has you can see drive 6 is on pending status, so if I go to job who is trying to mount this I found tape Y20946, so I run under ACSLS the command q vol Y20946 to see the status of this volume and is still in the home slot

ACSSA> q vol Y20946
2007-03-10 04:18:03 Volume Status
Identifier Status Current Location Type
Y20946 home 0, 1,13, 5,19 STK2P

Then I go to SN6000 and search for the same volume just to verify if is in transport or stuck in some drive and this is what I have:

ACSSA> q vol Y20946
03-10-07 04:06:03 Volume Status
Identifier Status Current Location Type
Y20946 home 0, 1,13, 5,19 unknown

The tape is still on his home slot, wich it means that there is a communication problem even between ACSLS and NBU or ACSLS and SN6000

I already check the dmesg logs to find if there is a SCSI and nothing came up.

I know this is a very particular question and kind of hard, so any expirience on this kind of issue can help me a lot.

Thanks.

Just for the record and future cases, I only restart the proxy ACSLS under SN6000 and that fix the issue, after a long research of HBA logs, ACS logs and SN6000 I get to tha conclusion.

Thanks.
