I came across this as a formula to calculate the required space for the accelerator track log, it was old and in a non-authorative forum post .
Is this still accurate?
Track Log Size [bytes] = [Number of files * 200] + [ [ Number of 128 KB blocks used ] *20 ]
I.E
Track Log Size [bytes] = [Number of files * 200] + [ [ Total disk space used in Bytes /128KB ] *20 ]
Cheers

Are you refering to Netbackup tracker or Windows Journal?

Netbackup.
Why - I need to use Accelerator but looks like free space is too small

Hi Jim,
here youll find a howto to move the track-file to a different location:
http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO77409
This is needed for shared drives in a cluster to have the actual track-file on the active node.
This may help you to avoid track-file is filling space. The default track-file is in the client directory.
I dont know how to calculate the size of track-file. But both choices are the same.
ciao

Hi Jim
It seems nobody really answered your question as to whether this is a valid calculation or not.
Have you tried it? Did it work for you?
Someone asked me about this a day or 2 ago and I remembered this post.
Your feedback based on your own experience will be appreciated.

It is until now the only formular I have seen - so can't really say yes or no ....
