Any impact for Authentication service VXSS

Hi,

 

Wondering whether installation of the above will cause any impact for existing backups. Do not have an environment to test this.

 

The reason for this installation is for NOM installation.

Puffy,

that is scary stuff. There were all kinds of problems with VXSS and NOM when 6.0 came out. I haven't played with it for some time now. Perhaps things are better now. I would research the knowledge base before proceeding. Good luck!

Hi Puffy,

 

I hope you are following the best practice of installing NOM on an independent server. That assures no impact on the backups.

 

Also, just a reminder that to use NOM you do _not_ have to enable VxSS (NBAC) for your NBU servers. Though NOM will need VxSS for its own functioning, it does not need VxSS on the NBU servers.
