Authentication error (160) on catalog backup

DaveG_2

I have a new WIndows 2003 master/media server with NetBackup Enterprise 6.5.1.  I have an online, full catalog backup scheduled daily.  Every day, four jobs kick off, three of them are "CATALOG_DRIVEN_BACKUP" and the other is the EMM backup.  One of the "CATALOG_DRIVEN_BACKUP" will always fail with an authentication error, status code 160.  The other three jobs are successful.  Has anyone seen this?  Any suggestions how to fix this or can I ignore it?  Thanks.

But this points to an authetication issue.

Please let us know

Thanks for the info. I will let you know the results when I finish.

Thanks for the links but unfortunately they are not applicable to my scenario.  I only get the error on a catalog backup, so there is no client machine involved.

Which one?

The earlier (by about 15 seconds) job fails and the one after will succeed.

In our set-up, catalog backup comprises (in order of commencement):

1) Parent process ;
2) Staging of relational database files for catalog backup (0 files, 0 kb, 2 mins);
3) Backup to tape of EMM database (7 files, 82784 kb, 19mins);
4) Backup to tape of images (72211 files, 100456480 kb, 90minutes).

Was trying to understand at what point you were having authentication issues &  what was successful or not.

Was also trying to understand how you would get authentication issues anyway (as you obviously are too!!).
Is set up a single Master/Media/EMM server?

I am running single master/media/emm server and I backup to a Data Domain disk array.  Below is the activity report for the four jobs and the detailed status report for each.  Thanks.

had the same problem , spoke to support, within the policy goto the disaster recovery tab and change the logon account to have the domain prefix it

Thanks, I finally got someone in tech support with a brain and they gave me the same solution, which worked.

I think you'll find that almost 100% of our engineers have a brain.  ;)

Now you have me humming the tune from the Wizard of Oz, "If I only had a brain..."
