BCV backup

Hi Friend
need your help to implement bcv backup through veritas netbackup.

1. what is BCV?
2. how to configure that?
3. why we mount and un-mount the mount points during bcv backup?
4. few days backu in bcv backup i see take more  time to un-mount the mount point.is it cause of netbackup side or OS side.

I am very thankful to your support.please help.

 BCV stands for business continuance volume.  It is an EMC solution for cloning production data.  You need to have an array capable of doing BCVs.  Hitachi has a smiliar method that uses a CCI (command control interface) product that I refer to as HORCM.

The idea is that you have a Disk Group A on your production server and Disk Group B on your media server.  Then you have a third disk group that floats between the two servers (BCV disk).  The BCV disk is mounted to the production server and syncs with the production disk group.  then it splits and is mount to your media server.  From there you can back up the data straigh to tape without having to cross the network.

I'm not sure why the unmount is taking you a long time.  :(
