Most ATLs have it as CLNxxxL1   L3 may also work.   xxx = your choice
If using NBU to manage cleaning it will be of type hcart3_clean  (check - from memory) and they also recommend putting in the "none" pool, keep an eye on how often NBU cleans the drives - if excessive disable and only clean on exception.

Hi,
To anyone who can sched some light on this: What does the L1 or L3 suffix mean ??? i tried printing a cleaning barcode (CLN000L3) with L3 suffix (as my lto3 cartridge data all have L3 suffix) but is still recognized as hcart3 cartridge not a hcart3_clean cartridge preventing me from using it as a clean cartridge ...
Thanks.

I always assumed L1 for LTO1 & L3 for LTO3 but I know you can't assume in this game!

We had fun & games when we first started to use LTO3s & tried various methods within barcode rules. Luckily enough, having just checked ours, we still have it set up for our cleaning cartridges. These are the details we used on our rules:

Barcode Tag: CLN
Cleanings: 25
Media Type: 1/2" Cleaning 3 (shows up as hcart3_clean in barcode rule summary & media type HC3_CLN in media listing)
Volume Pool: None (greyed out)
Description: Cleaning Tape

Hope this helps.
