CLIENT Netbackup AIX 4.3.3

Hello,

Do you know which version of client is needed to backup a AIX 4. 3.3.0 server ? (with a NB6.0 backup server ).
Can't find it on Symantec website.

Operating Systems Not Supported as of NetBackup 6.0

AIX 4.3.3 ML10 IBM RS/6000, SP, pSeries

client selection RS6000,AIX4.3.3

Notes that apply:

1. The NetBackup Java Administration Console is not supported.

26. Vendor has announced End-of-Support for this product. VERITAS support may be

affected.

98. Next major release following NetBackup 5.0 will not support this OS version.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough in answering your question.

The answer is load Netbackup 5.x on your client and that can be backed up by your 6.x servers.

AIX4.3.3.10 is long obselete even by IBM supportability. In fact even AIX5.1 is already pretty much end of life. You really should look at upgrading the OS to 5.3. Unless you have certain apps you still need to run on old OS.... then you are basically going to find the going tougher and tougher as time goes by.
