CPI ERROR V-9-1-1068 installics must be run by a user with root ID

Hi Techies,

I was installing Netbackup 6.5 on Red Hat Linux Server without a problem. Now that I am installing it on
Ubuntu (Verions: Linux version 2.6.32-22-generic (buildd@rothera) (gcc version 4.4.3(Ubuntu 4.4.3-4ubuntu5) )#33-Ubuntu SMP.

During the installtion it prompt me to install VRTPbx. So I install it with this command:
/mount_point/NB_65_ICS_1.4.37.0_LinuxX86/
./installics

I got this error:

CPI ERROR V-9-1-1068 installics must be run by a user with root ID

I ran this as root got the same error
I ran this as user got the same error.

Has anyone of you encountered this? Your suggestion will highly be appreciated.

NetBackup server is not supported on Ubuntu.

Thanks for the reply. So is the Netback up client install is supported in Ubuntu ?

Just a follow up question, has any one of you install the Netbackup clinet on Ubuntu?
Or do you have any link or knowledge base to share? I am using Netbackup 6.5.2.

Yes but only on 8.04 LTS.
You probably has 10.04 (2.6.32-22)... You can try to install client on this machine. Vxpbx is not installed on the client in 6.5.5.
If its 64bit machine you have to install ia32-libs

You may be able to find some folks that have been able to get unsupported platforms to work, the only problem is that if you have issues, you can't go to support for help.
