Cancelling tape backup

Hello, everyone,
I'm new to tape backup. General question.
What happens if I cancel a backup that writes to tape? Will the part that has already been written to be used again? Or will this space be available only after the media expires?

Hi @Nursultan 

It depends:

• For multiplexed backups the space is "lost" until media expires.
• For single stream backups, the space will be reused.
