Catalog Backup

Hello All Experts,

I ran catalog backup in winserver 2008 with 7.0 server. I could see it created 4 jobs for full backup.

1 is parent job and second i could see for staging but didnot understand the 3 and 4 one. Could somebody pls elaborate the all 4?

• JOBID 1 is the parent job.
• JOBID 2 is a child job that makes a temporary copy of database files to a staging directory (/usr/openv/db/staging for UNIX and Linux, <install_path>\NetBackupDB\staging for Windows)
• JOBID 3 is a child job for NetBackup relational database(s)

Configuration files (server.conf, database.conf, vxdbms.conf)

Database files:

NBDB.db

NBDB.log

EMM_DATA.db

EMM_INDEX.db

If BMR has been installed:

BMRDB.db

BMRDB.log

BMR_DATA.db

BMR_INDEX.db

• JOBID 4 is a child job for image catalog backup.

It means that these 4 jobs are same for backup and restore. Because i checked in restore there are 4 jobs which you mentioned in the post. Pls correct me if i am wrong?

you only see only 2 images when you see in the restore panle,

one is for staging folder /usr/openv/db/staging for UNIX and Linux, <install_path>\NetBackupDB\staging for Windows)

another is for Image data base...
