I am trying to change the media id on tapes from a different server to new media server.
I run the command bplabel -m nbt040 -d hcart3 -p sn121ahyper1 -n LTO-SEDE-POC-DRIVE2 -host poc-02.
We are using standalone tape to test, and we need to break the MEDIA_ID to change their identification . But bplabel command does this change . Is there any other command to change the ID of the new media in media server ?

Hi Yasuhida and ashokk,
I discovered that it is necessary to delete the old media ID and manually create a desired new media ID before running the command bplabel. After this steps the media id was changed successfuly.
Thanks for all help.

Please note ,if you change the media ID, Netbacku treats it as a new volume also you can't restore if you relable or change the media ID of a tape. If I understand your requirement correct, you are trying to reuse a tape that was written by another server ?
Do this,
bpexpdate -m <mediaID> -d 0
bplabel -m media_id -d density -o -host media_server

What message you got from bplabel?
Please ensure that the tape you would change its label is mounted in tape drive when you issue bplabel. Try " bplabel -host media_server -m media_id -d density -n drive_name -o" on master server, or "bplabel -h master_server -host media_server -m media_id -d density -n drive_name -o" on media server.

Hi ashokk, I'm trying to reuse the tape on another server.
I'm run the command C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin\admincmd>bplabel -m 828080 -d hcart3 -p ss828ahyper1 -n LTO-SEDE-POC-DRIVE4 -host poc-02, but not show anything.
I deleted de media id "820080" from volume pool ss828ahyper1 and now i'm trying to create a new media id on this tape. i'm run the command bplabel -host media_server -m media_id -d density -n drive_name -o" on master server, but not show anything too.
tks
