Master server: windows server 2003

so in which way i need to zone

type 1: master server+san client + drives
type 2: master server+san Cient ;   san client + tape drive
type 3: master server+tape drive ;  san client + master server

my intention is to move the data directly from strorage to tape drive.

I think you can share the drives between the media servers you need, so you get a direct connection to the SAN other way you will be using a brige media server who will be connecting your clients to the drives, everything depends of how big the storage is on your clients, but I will suggest to use your biggest environments or clients with local shared drives.

hope this helps.
