I have a 6.5 Windows 2003 EE SP 2 6.5 master server and a 6.5 media server with the same operating system. I have a HP-UX 11.23 SAP client running NetBackup 6.0 MP7, I need to do a SAP backup to disk. The disk is attached to the 6.5 windows media server. I have defined a policy storage unit which point to this disk. The disk is a 1 TB LUN on an HP EVA SAN.
I have tried different settings in the $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/initSID.sap and $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/initSID.utl files. I have even changed the command options on the brbackup command in the NetBackup supplied SAP for Oracle script. We are not using RMAN.
Looking at the log files on the media server, it looks like it is still trying to find a tape library to use. The backup fails with an error 6 on the parent process and an error 25 on the child process.
