Daily, Mountly and Yearly SAP Backup

Hello,

When taking SAP Backup, I want to take Daily - Monthly and Annual Backups. First of all, since Basis teams start the SAP Backups, they also make the schedule. Can I start SAP Backups from netbackup and make 3 different schedules? Or how can I do?

first check it , is it sap hana or sap oracle?

Hello @tarikk ,

you can achieve this on policy level or on script level. I personally have an experience with policy config. The principle is that you must create overlapping pairs of automatic+application schedules. So for example:

Application Backup schedule for usual daily backups: Mo-Fr 0-24

Automatic schedule for daily backups: Mo-Fr 20-24 

Application Backup schedule for usual Monthly backups: Sa 8-12

Automatic schedule for Monthly backups: Sa 8-11

Yearly schedules on Sundays or Saturday afternoons etc.

So automatic schedule runs picks-up a correct application schedule which is the only appl schedule opened at that time. 

However this design is not working well for manual / SAP initiated backups.
