what is the difference between the backup window and the application window, which we use for database backup schedule.
Mostly all oracle RMAN backups are configured with two scheduls backup and application.
Please share some information to undertsand the relationship between these two schedules.
Thanks in advance

A backup windows for file system backup will instruct Netbackup to run backup withing a given windows for X number of clients belonging to a schedule. Netbackup initiate the backup.
For database backup you define a automatic backup that will kick of a script to start whatever tool the database uses for backup e.g. RMAN or brtools. When the database backup start it uses a application backup schedule in the same policy (or fall back to the Default-Application-Policy). The application schedule windows only tell when the database is allowed to use the schedule - it does not start something on it own. RMAN / SAP /SQL server are also called user initiated backups. If you try to run a database backup for schedule which is not open Netbackup will throw a error.
