Differential Backup after changing policy name

Hi

I observe this phenomenon for a policy after I renamed it. 

This policy runs

FULL Backup - SAT

Diff Backup - Mon-FRI

After I renamed the policy (Copy to New Policy), it seems that it is doing a Full Backup as previously diff only takes less than an hour. Just wondering whether this is normal when you change the policy name.

This is normal. Think of it as the differential is looking for anything changed since the last full. Since there were no full backups then by that very fact, all files are different and require to be backed up. The best way to avoid this is to run a full backup everytime you create or change a policy name.
