Exchange 2003 - failed mailstore backup

Hi

I recently received an error a failure on one of your mailstores - the error is below. We use Netbackup 6.0.

“Error bpbm - error failure <message location> the backup of the items is bad “

What is the best way to deal with this corrupt item?

Was this on a mailbox backup or a Information store backup?

I assume it was a mailbox backup. I would log in to the mailbox containing the item and see if it can be viewed. If not there may be an issue with the consistency of your exchange store which should be rectified ASAP. If you can view it try the backup again. It may have just been a one off issue with reading that mail.
