Exchange Backups

Hello,

Does a full backup of the exchange information store flush the logs after a backup, as there is no option in the client properties for exchange.

If they are flushed after a backup how can I check this in Netbackup?

Thanks in advance.

A full backup would; a copy backup would not.

I'm not sure if you can in fact check this directly in netbackup, but there are ways I suppose.  For example you could look at the number of files backed up - do a full and a copy and compare the difference.  Or you could look at the transaction log directory and see the file list before/after a backup.  Or you could trust netbackup that if it exits with a "0" status that it in fact truncated the logs.

Yes.  See the user's guide, pages 15 & 16 http://support.veritas.com/docs/290211

The Exchange server will delete (truncate) logs when the agent reports a successful FULL or DIFF backup.
