FS backup is completing partially successful

Hello Guys,

One of the windows client backup is completing partially successful and it is unable to backup System state. Please find attached bpbkar and bpcd logs.

Hello,

Please let know what you have put under the backup selection list for this policy?

Provide output for command "vssadmin list writers". There should not be any error condition.

Also check if you are able to use NTBackup/WSB to backup the system state to a disk location, just to identify if its a Windows issue. It may not be related to netbackup.

OS version and patch level on client?

NBU 7.1 patch level? 
NBU patches up to 7.1.0.4 included lots of fixes for Windows System State backups.

Have attempts been made to see if Shadow Copy Components and/or System State can be backed to local disk up using Windows backup?

We see the following in bpbkar log that points to Windows issue:

tar_base::V_vTarMsgW: WRN - can't open file: System State:\COM+ Class Registration Database\COM+ REGDB (WIN32 -536832991: Unknown error)

do your client server has a boot partition without a drive letter assigned?

try to assign a drive letter to the boot partition, and run the backup again

Enable vss open file backup also run netbackup client services with administrator privileges

Also see this in your bpbkar log for System Services & Event logs.

beds_base::V_OpenForRead():FS_OpenObj() Failed! (0xE0009421:No component files present on the snapshot.

Can you please check if there is any error reporting in system/application event logs?
