We are backing up our Exchange 2010 environment ok using a windows media server on Netbackup 7.6.0.4 . We have recently installed a Netbackup appliance and migrating all the backups to the Appliance Media server
We are however getting the following error when running the Full backup socket write failed (24) on the appliance
However a diff backup runs successfully
All Exchange are Window 2008 and the Windows firewall are switched off
All Exchange servers are on the same version 7.6.0.4

Thanks Guys ,
Looks like I might have fixed this by applying the KB article below . I have re-enable tcp_timestamps to resolve the issue

Hello yobole,
Is it a DAG? Full backup is granular?
Please show detailed job log, bpbkar from all clients, and bpbrm, bptm from Media.
Random guess that MB servers could not resolve name of new applicance.
try running from Applicance
bptestbpcd -client <exch server> -verbose -debug

Status 24 is conection issues. As TECH150369 says:
These are possible causes for this issue:
- High network load
- Intermittent connectivity
- Packet reordering
- Duplex mismatch between client and master server NICs
- Small network buffer size
Look at the bpbkar and bpbrm logs with logging at verbose 5 for more detail. As the tech note says, changing communication buffer size to 128 could help.
