Hi All ,
Need your help
one of the my san media server is showing offline but when i am tring to activate it is giving following error .
root@DCMSSTBY_aix:/usr/openv/volmgr/bin$./vmoprcmd -hoststatus
CURRENT HOST STATUS
Host DCMSSTBY_aix is OFFLINE
root@DCMSSTBY_aix:/usr/openv/volmgr/bin$./vmoprcmd -activate_host
Command not valid for media servers running NetBackup versions older than 6.0
version netbackup on it is
root@DCMSSTBY_aix:/usr/openv/netbackup/bin$cat version
NetBackup-AIX5 6.5.4
Master server is solaris 10
netbackup version on master is 7.5.0.4
San media server on which issue occured is AIX
and netbackup version is 6.5.4 on it .

Hi All
We executed the below command and found required port is not in listtining mode , so requested the server owner to open the below mentioned port bidirectional

13721
13724
1556
After opening the port backup is completed successfully

seems you are trying this command from the Media server.
try this command from Master/EMM server and see how it results...
vmoprcmd -activate_host <medianservername> -h device_host

Check media server for running processes:
bpps -x
Ensure pbx as well as Media Manager processes are running.
Probably a good idea to restart NBU and pbx on media server.
I agree with above post - why still on 6.5? Support ended a year ago.
Please upgrade!

it looks like there is a log on script running and keeping the logs in FS /oits-logs
and its 100% Full...
you need to get the celan-up and make some space to move forward...

The space issue does not seem to have anything to do with NBU. Speak to the server owner.

Hi ALL,
Below error i am getting while executing bptestbpcd ,
[hbchanmstn1]# bptestbpcd -client DCMSSTBY_aix -verbose
<16>bptestbpcd main: Function ConnectToBPCD(DCMSSTBY_aix) failed: 25
cannot connect on socket

Hi Marianne ,
I would like to tell you that i am in night shift 10:30 to 7:30 IST.
so i respond as come to office in shift. :)
and restarted the services and pbx still issue is same
will check it after upgradtion and get back to u .

However for space i have droped a mail to server owner waitting for their reply .
