How to backup Enterprise Vault without using the EV policy type

All,

Does anyone know of a way to back up Enterprise Vault without using the policy type "Enterprise Vault"?

Now that I've typed that out, it sounds rather silly, however we do not have the EV policy type, nor do I think we'll be getting the ability to use it anytime soon, so I was wondering if anyone out there was backing up EV 7.5 without using the policy type, and if so, how are you backing up the individual components of EV as a whole?

It is no possible.
Id does involve restarting EV service and putting EV in READ ONLY MODE.
