Hello Ajai,
What is the database you are backing up? There are methods to do daily delta backups, archives, transaction logs  of oracle, SQL, etc...

Hi Bob,

We are using Teradata on Linux. We are using TARA GUI as the interface to NetBackup but the ultimate Backup tool is NetBackup running for Teradata.

NetBackup Agent for Teradata databases is no longer supported by Symantec, but is supported by Teradata
http://support.veritas.com/docs/321074

The NetBackup Agent for Teradata Databases (also called the NetBackup Teradata extension or Access Module) was jointly developed by Teradata (formerly a part of NCR Corporation) and Veritas Software (now Symantec Corporation) and was originally supported by Veritas.  As of NetBackup 4.5 the development and support of the NetBackup Agent for Teradata Databases was taken over completely by NCR and subsequently Teradata.

Teradata customers should contact Teradata for assistance or support of the NetBackup Agent for Teradata; http://www.teradata.com/.

If Teradata support determines that the problem is external to the database extension, they will engage NetBackup support on behalf of the end customer.
