Hundreds of VMware snapshot childs with only Tens of Backup Childs

Hello,

I have a NetBackup Domain consisting of one Master Server and two media servers. The environment is set to backup VMware virtual machines and we have hundreds of policies with vCloud Director Integration enabled. We have thousands of VMs to be backuped up. I noticed during the backup window that I have Hundreds of VMware snapshot childs created and only Tens of Backup Childs created. In other words it takes hours to create the backup Child jobs for most of th clients although the snapshot is created successfully. Any idea what could be the reason behind his behaviour ?

Regards

If a snapshot job is in "queued" state, any backup job(s) that eventually will use the snapshot won't exist until the snapshot job becomes active and successfully takes a snapshot. This is normal behavior for any policy type, not just VMware backups. The sequence (without SLP considerations) is to make a snapshot, then if the snapshot job reports success, generate one or more backup jobs to back up from the snapshot.
