I had issues with restoring a HyperV guest to a different host on a different Hyper Cluster. The backup method uses WMI method for snapshots. I was following the solution to use the command line because the GUI is non-operational or broken.
Exit code: 2821.......
I proceeded to use the bprestorevm.exe command and it was painful, while tailing the log I saw a java call then the lightbulb moment and I tried the JAVA GUI to restore the guest to a different host. To my surprise it worked . Somehow in the admin guide there is no reference to using the Java GUI.
Just thought I'd share that bit of information.
