It seems real silly to me that I have to install all the software on NetBackup clients when I upgrade to 7.1 - even though I know 99% of them won't use the java admin console or client side dedup, etc. We even had some machines that didn't have enough room in /opt/openv where we have the client software. When I asked Symantec support about this they said they wouldn't support anything other than a full install. Can you guys at Symantec pass along the comment that I'd sure like to see a way to choose what software gets put on the clients?

We had similar complaints from customer - not all agents and options are needed on the clients. Space is often a problem on older clients.

I personally love the single-install - installation used to be a schlep when individual options needed to be downloaded and installed. Patching used to be a huge problem where individual options were often forgotten...
