Hello Team,
We purchased two new EMC Dell Data Domain disk storage units that came pre-installed with DDoS 7.7.2. The version of NetBackup installed on the RedHat Master/Medua servers is 8.3.0.1 (soon to upgrade to 9.x.).
Q: Is the Data Domain DDoS 7.7.2 version compatible with either NetBackup 8.3.0.1 or 9.x, or even 10.x ?
According to the compatibility guides located, the highest DDoS version listed for NBU 8.3.x or 9.x is DDoS 7.5.x. Need to confirm as the downgrade from DDoS 7.7.x to a lower version requires a complete re-image of the new Data Domains (though currently not in production yet).
This is the chart that resulted in this post. Note for NBU 8.3 the Data Domain DDoS version is capped at 7.3.x, then for NBU 9.0 the Data Domain DDoS is capped at 7.5.
Thank you....

Hi,
Veritas NetBackup only certifies the OST plug-in versions (that's what you see in NetBackup HCL guide), not DDOS.
Better to check with Dell to know if specific version of OST plug-in is compatible with a specific DDOS version.
