Linux BMR restore worked but didn't?

Hello Everyone:

I did a BMR restore on one of my Linux servers after a full backup (as a test) and it seemed to work, but some of the directories were empty. There was data in the directories at the time of the full backup. I looked at BPKAR and the data was backed up just not restored using BMR. Has anyone ever encountered this?

Thanks!

Which Linux version are you restoring with ?  Are these empty directories mere data folders or OS related ones ?

Are you doing system only restore by chance?

Try taking copy of "the current" configuration and open it. Check if all the file systems you intended to restore are on un-restricted disk/s and also availalble in new configuration (down side pane).

Note: In case of EMC PP based volumes/fs, the disks will be marked restricted automatically and those volumes/fs will not be restored by BMR. You can although restore those volumes on non-emc pp disk (local or san) by using BMRCONFIG mapping GUI.

Check BMR restore log on master server to see if the file system/s creation failed for them and hence did not recovered.

Thanks.

The volumes are restricted. Thank you for the heads up.
