MS SQL backup control job finishes with status code 1,but application backup jobs exit status is 0

Sometimes I encounter the situation described in subject line. I'm pretty sure I came across the technote regarding this issue.

Could you please point me to this technote.

The control job would complete with a (1) if not all of the directive in it were able to be processed.

ie: if you have 2 .bch files listed and only 1 runs, the control job will finish with a status (1).

I'm having the same problem.  My policy has 2 .bch file listed, both of which spawn a control job when the policy runs.  Each control job ends with a status code 1, but each app backup job for both control jobs ends with status code 0.

On the one hand, every individual app backup says it completes fine.  However each of the control jobs thinks something didn't work.
