I have a MSSQL backup policy with different application backup.

Default-Application-Backup_Mon which write to volume pool Mon_Pool
Default-Application-Backup_Tue which write to volume pool Tue_Pool
Default-Application-Backup_Wed which write to volume pool Wed_Pool
Default-Application-Backup_Thu which write to volume pool Thu_Pool
Default-Application-Backup_Fri which write to volume pool Fri_Pool

For the policy volume pool under the attributes tabs, i put Mon_Pool.
But i have check the override volume pool in each of the appication backup as shown above.

On the Monday backup, it is successful.
But for the others, all is failed with error 96 (Unable to allocate new media for backup).

May i know how do i solve this problem?
Please help...........Thanks...

Each pool requires it's own tape/s. Media doesn't get shared between the pools. Being said that you may want to check if you have media avilable, which is not Full not Frozen not Suspended either in respective pools or in Scratch pool.

Run available_media to check for the media status.

place a tape in each of the pools before running the backup
