NBU 7.1.04 Master/Media server on OL6.2 HP DL360 Gen8

I realize this is a long shot, but thought I would put it out for the experts:

We thought having the newest server with more resources (12 core, 36GB RAM, 10GB nic) and kernel would give us much better perfomance of our backups. We installed OL6.2 and Netbackup 7.1.04 on the server as Master and Media server.

First run - Catalog backup took 3x longer than on older server!

There are no errors in any logs.

The job starts and somewhere between 'connecting' and 'writing' the backup there is a 10 minute gap where nothing is happening.

The only thing in TOP while the job is 'lost' is -

/usr/openv/db//bin/NB_dbsrv @/usr/openv/var/global/server.conf

Then a flurry of bptm once it begins writing.

I am trying to understand the process. Here is a snippet from the Catalog backup status -

8/2/2012 2:36:56 PM - started process bpbrm (22224)

8/2/2012 2:36:56 PM - connecting

8/2/2012 2:36:56 PM - connected; connect time: 00:00:00

8/2/2012 2:36:57 PM - Info bptm(pid=22233) start backup

8/2/2012 2:42:58 PM - begin writing

****************WHAT IS OCCURING HERE FOR SIX MINUTES*************

8/2/2012 2:53:29 PM - Info bptm(pid=22233) EXITING with status 0 <----------

8/2/2012 2:53:29 PM - Info bpbrm(pid=22224) validating image for client bkvnbtest01

8/2/2012 2:53:29 PM - Info bpbkar(pid=22232) done. status: 0: the requested operation was successfully completed

8/2/2012 2:53:29 PM - end writing; write time: 00:10:31

On the older server running 7.1.04 but an OL5.6 kernel that six minutes is none existent -

8/2/2012 12:00:37 AM - Info bptm(pid=1109) start backup

8/2/2012 12:00:37 AM - begin writing

Any thoughts or direction would be appreciated!

I presume that is Oracle Linux?  Since the change apparent is the OS, have you engaged Oracle Support?
