NBU error 58

Hi,

I am working on a backup failure status (58) can't connect to client. I have done initial tests like ping/telnet and bptest and everything is working. I can see the hosts are in place in /etc/hosts as well. The client is a Solaris10 with NBU 8.1.2.0 and the master server is at NBU 10.0.0. May i know what to check next? should we push with upgrading the client to 10.0.0?

had you try to telnet client's port 1556 from the media server?

Usually the error 58 is a media server connection problem and not master's

as StefanosM mentioned,if your master and media server on separate host you need to do the same thing (enable port 1556, your regular testing as well) as you did between master and client.so port 1556 must be enabled between media server and client, and vice verse.
plus add the host name of media server in client host file, and vice verse.
